T20 Cricket Team: World T20 XI 2014

                    Final match of T20 world cup 2014 finished with a cracking game of cricket won by Sri Lanka. This edition of T20 world cup saw the participation from teams like Holland, Nepal, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Ireland and Zimbabwe apart from regular participating nations like India, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, England and host Bangladesh. Out of these teams India and Sri Lanka secured their place in finals which was eventually won by Sri Lanka team for the first time in T20 cricket world cup history.

World T20 XI Team :  The players are listed in their playing position for World XI team according to their batting position. This World T20 XI has 5 batsmen, 1 wicket-keeper, 1 all rounder, 2 spinners and 2 quick bowlers suited best for the team combinations to play in any conditions.   

1. Stephen Mayburgh (Left Hand Batsman):  Opener


Stephen Mayburgh is a explosive opening batsmen from the Netherlands who displayed his batting skills in shortest format of the cricket game. He played some great knock in 2014 T20 world cup and he was the star performer from the Netherlands. He scored 224 runs in 7 matches at an average of 32.00 hitting 3 fifties. His knock of 63 runs in just 23 balls hitting 7 sixes and 2 boundaries made him popular in cricketing world. He is selected as the opener in for our World T20 XI.

2. Alex Hales (Right Hand Batsman) : Opener


Though England failed to qualify to semi-final stage in 2014 World T20, still Alex Hales made his presence felt as an aggressive opener. He scored 166 runs in 4 matches at the blistering average of 55.20 runs per match. His unbeaten score of 116* against Sri Lanka is rated as the best inning while chasing in T20 world cup. He is also selected to play as opener in World XI team.

3. Virat Kohli (Right Hand Batsman) : No.3 Bat


Virat Kohli is batting sensation from India is suited in all forms of the cricket be it Test, ODI or T20. He was leading run scorer in T20 world cup 2014 and scored 319 runs at an average of 102.63  in 7 matches. He has solid batting technique and can change his according to the need of the team. He is equally suited to play sensible game as well as attacking game. He is selected to bat at No. 3 batting position in our World T20 XI.

4. JP Duminy (Left Hand Batsman) : Middle Order


JP Duminy is a middle order batsman from South Africa and he contributed for his team in all departments. Duminy scored 187 runs in 5 matches at the strike rate of 140.60 and also picked up 1 wicket with his spin bowling. He is great asset to the team so he is selected as the middle order batsmen to bat at no. 4 in our World T20 XI.

5. Glen Maxwell (Right Hand Batsman) :Middle Order


Glen Maxwell is explosive middle order batsman from Australia  cricket team. Maxwell played some good knock in T20 World cup 2014. He scored 147 runs in 4 matches at an average of 36.75. He picked up 1 wicket with spin bowling also took 6 catches. He scored quick 74 runs in just 33 balls hitting 7 fours and 6 sixes against Pakistan while chasing a big score. He will play as the middle order batsman in our World T20 XI

6. Mahender Singh Dhoni (Captain) : Wicket-keeper Batsman


Indian skipper MS Dhoni didn't got too many opportunities to bat but he led his team well to help the reach to final. He is great asset to T20 team with wicket-keeping, explosive batting and great captaincy skills. Dhoni is our wicket-keeper as well as Captain for our World T20 XI team.

7. Dwayne Bravo (Right arm Bat & Bowl) : All Rounder


Dwayne Bravo is great all round cricketer from West Indies who can contribute greatly with both bat and bowl. He scored 103 runs in 5 matches and also picked up 1 wicket with his bowling. He is an electrifying fielder in cricket ground so Bravo has been included as an all-rounder in our World T20 XI.

8. Dale Steyn (Right Arm Fast) : Fast Bowler

 
Dale Steyn is quick bowler from South Africa  who is great bowler to open. He bowls really fast with great accuracy which fetched him 9 wickets in 5 matches he played in T20 world cup. His best bowling performance came against New Zealand where he picked up 4 wickets giving away just 17 runs and led to win. Steyn is selected as main fast bowler for our World T20 XI.

9. Lasith Malinga (Right Arm Fast) : Fast Bowler


Lasith Malinga is rated as most lethal bowler in T20 format with his sling arm action and with his accuracy to bowl toe cruising yorkers. He picked up 5 wickets in 6 matches and played important role in winning the World T20 title for Sri Lanka. His best bowling performance came against the  West Indies in semi-final where he picked up 2 wickets for just 5 runs. He is selected as fast bowler in our World T20 XI.

10. Sunil Narnie (Right Arm Off-Break) : Spinner 


Sunil Narnie is one of the most economical spin bowler in T20 format from West Indies with variety of deliveries. He picked up 6 wickets in 5 matches bowling his best spell against Pakistan where he picked up 3 wickets giving just 17 runs. He will play as Spin bowler in our World T20 XI.

11. Imran Tahir (Leg Break Googly) : Spinner


The leg spin bowler Imran Tahir from South Africa has been a revelation in World T20 2014 where he got 12 wickets in 5 matches at the economy of 6.55 runs per over. He displayed the importance of leg spinners in T20 format to cricketing world. He will play as leg spinner in our World T20 XI.

In this edition of the World T20 2014 there were many remarkable contributions from the cricketers for their respective teams to help them win. On the basis of these players contributions in World T20 tournament we have created a World XI cricket team. In this team we have top performing players from most of the teams which participated in T20 world cup 2014 tournament.                

             This is World T20 XI team according to their performance in recently concluded T20 World Cup.  If I have missed someone to include or anyone who deserves more than these players you can mention them in comment box with their position in World T20 XI.
